Ishizuka Glass Co., Ltd. (TSE: 5204), an Aichi-based maker of glass bottles, tableware and packaging — together with plastics and paper containers — reported consolidated full-year results for the fiscal year ended March 20, 2026 (FY3/2026) under Japanese GAAP. Revenue rose 6.3% year-on-year to ¥59,510 million from ¥55,994 million, while operating profit climbed 8.1% to ¥4,160 million from ¥3,849 million and ordinary profit advanced 4.5% to ¥3,882 million. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent, however, fell 15.2% to ¥2,618 million from ¥3,088 million, and basic EPS came in at ¥624.02 versus ¥739.09. Founded in 1819, Ishizuka Glass is among Japan's oldest glassmakers and is listed in both Tokyo and Nagoya.

Revenue and operating profit grow, but net profit slips

The headline tension in the year was the split between operating and net profitability: revenue grew 6.3% and operating profit gained 8.1%, yet net profit declined 15.2%. The decline reflects a higher prior-year base rather than core-business weakness — FY3/2025 had carried a larger contribution from one-off gains that did not recur this year. Ordinary profit grew a more muted 4.5%, slower than operating profit, while the operating performance itself — driven by the company's glass bottle, tableware and packaging operations — continued to improve on stronger revenue.

Stronger balance sheet and robust cash generation

Ishizuka Glass entered the new year on a firmer financial footing. Total assets stood at ¥99,995 million and net assets at ¥39,292 million, lifting the equity ratio to 37.8% from 33.8% a year earlier — a four-percentage-point improvement. Book value per share reached ¥9,058.73. Cash generation was robust: operating cash flow came in at ¥8,306 million, against investing outflows of ¥4,413 million and financing outflows of ¥5,752 million, leaving period-end cash and equivalents at ¥2,943 million.

Dividend raised to ¥70; further increase guided for FY27

Reflecting the year's solid operating performance, the FY3/2026 annual dividend was raised to ¥70.00 per share from ¥65.00, for total distributions of ¥291 million. Management guides a further increase to ¥72.00 for FY3/2027, signalling confidence in cash generation even as guided earnings soften. The progressive dividend underscores the company's commitment to shareholder returns backed by its strengthened balance sheet and strong operating cash flow.

FY27 guidance points to a softer profit year

For the fiscal year ending March 2027 (FY3/2027), management guides for continued revenue growth but a notably softer profit year. Revenue is seen rising 4.2% to ¥62,000 million, but operating profit is forecast to fall 15.9% to ¥3,500 million, ordinary profit down 17.6% to ¥3,200 million, and net profit attributable to owners down 17.9% to ¥2,150 million, with EPS of ¥515.57. The profit pullback against a rising top line points to cost pressures and a normalization of demand from this year's elevated levels, rather than a revenue contraction. With an equity ratio approaching 38% and a raised dividend, Ishizuka Glass enters that softer year from a more solid financial position than a year ago.
