Equity portfolio drives a huge swing in comprehensive income

Net profit again exceeded ordinary profit, reflecting gains on the sale of investment securities from TBS's large equity portfolio. The portfolio also drove a dramatic swing in total comprehensive income, to a positive ¥234,950 million from a negative ¥186,316 million a year earlier, as market valuations recovered. Ordinary profit of ¥37,373 million benefited from non-operating income on top of the 27% rise in operating profit.

Higher dividend and steady guidance

Total assets stood at ¥1,628,220 million and net assets at ¥1,135,390 million, for an equity ratio of 69.3% and book value per share of ¥7,192.17. TBS raised its annual dividend to ¥84.00 per share (¥35 interim + ¥49 year-end) from ¥68.00 and plans a further increase to ¥100.00 for FY2027.
