Sekichu Co., Ltd. (TSE: 9976) reported non-consolidated results for the first quarter of FY2/2027 (February 21–May 20, 2026; J-GAAP). Operating revenue rose 3.3% to ¥8,076 million, operating profit climbed 24.3% to ¥371 million, ordinary profit rose 22.6% to ¥363 million, and net profit rose 20.7% to ¥253 million. EPS was ¥46.63.
Home-center sales firm in the first quarter
The Gunma-based home-center chain, which sells DIY, gardening, household and home-improvement goods, posted higher sales and a sharp rise in quarterly profit on better cost control. The double-digit jump in operating profit outpaced the modest 3.3% revenue gain, underscoring an improvement in operating efficiency at the start of the new fiscal year.
Balance sheet and dividend
Total assets were ¥24,456 million, net assets ¥11,922 million, and the equity ratio 48.7%. The FY2/2027 dividend forecast is ¥30.00 (year-end), unchanged from the prior year's ¥30.00 — which had included a ¥10 special dividend.
Cautious full-year guidance
Despite the strong start, management kept conservative FY2/2027 guidance that points to lower full-year results: operating revenue of ¥30,000 million (−5.9%), operating profit of ¥500 million (−19.3%), ordinary profit of ¥550 million (−13.7%) and net profit of ¥350 million (−12.5%), with EPS of ¥63.89.
