Zuiko Corporation (TSE: 6279) reported consolidated results for the first quarter of FY2/2027 (February 21–May 20, 2026; J-GAAP). Revenue fell 19.2% to ¥4,170 million, and the company posted an operating loss of ¥225 million (versus a ¥76 million loss a year earlier), an ordinary loss of ¥191 million, and a net loss of ¥181 million (versus a ¥49 million loss). The quarterly loss per share was ¥6.99.
Lumpy order timing weighs on a seasonally weak quarter
Zuiko designs and builds high-speed production machinery for disposable diapers, sanitary products and other hygiene goods. As is typical for project-based capital-equipment makers, revenue and profit are concentrated in later quarters, so a first-quarter loss reflects order-recognition timing rather than underlying weakness.
Solid balance sheet
Total assets were ¥51,719 million, net assets ¥35,839 million and the equity ratio 69.1% (BPS ¥1,376.47). The planned FY2/2027 dividend was raised to ¥20.00 (¥12 interim, including a ¥4 commemorative dividend, plus ¥8 year-end), up from ¥12.00.
Full-year guidance sees a sharp rebound

Net profit is guided at ¥1,280 million (−35.1%), below the prior year, which had included a large one-off gain; EPS guidance is ¥48.35.
