Rorze (TSE: 6323), which makes semiconductor wafer-transfer robots, EFEMs, sorters and precision automation equipment from its base in Hiroshima, reported results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027 — the three months from March 1 to May 31, 2026. Sales rose 12.5% to ¥37,206m, operating profit rose 21.2% to ¥10,230m, ordinary profit climbed 51.1% to ¥10,938m and net profit attributable to owners jumped 56.0% to ¥8,210m. Quarterly EPS was ¥47.34, up from ¥29.91.
Chip investment recovery lifts demand
Demand for wafer-handling robots and equipment recovered on rising semiconductor investment, powering the double-digit sales gain. Ordinary and net profit outpaced operating profit partly because foreign exchange swung from a loss to a gain year on year: comprehensive income came in at ¥8,692m, against a loss of ¥317m a year earlier when a strong yen had hurt the translation of overseas earnings. The result lifted profitability across the board and set the tone for a stronger full year.
Balance sheet and dividend
Total assets stood at ¥201,633m and net assets at ¥145,657m, giving an equity ratio of 67.8%, up from 66.0% a year earlier. The company plans a full-year dividend for FY2/27 of ¥20.00 per share (a year-end payout of ¥20.00), an increase from the ¥17.00 paid for FY2/26.
Full-year outlook
Rorze guides full-year FY2/27 sales of ¥159,021m (+23.5%), operating profit of ¥38,112m (+22.3%), ordinary profit of ¥38,241m (+17.2%) and net profit of ¥27,809m (+46.0%), for EPS of ¥159.62. For the first half it expects sales of ¥77,634m (+18.3%), operating profit of ¥19,088m (+17.7%), ordinary profit of ¥19,168m (+31.5%) and net profit of ¥13,809m (+27.0%). The first-quarter result represents about 23% of the full-year sales target and 27% of the operating-profit target.
