OBIC Co., Ltd. (TSE: 4684), one of Japan's most profitable enterprise-software companies, reported consolidated results for the first quarter of the year ending March 31, 2027 under Japanese GAAP. Revenue rose 13.2% to ¥36,698 million, operating profit climbed 15.7% to ¥24,860 million, ordinary profit rose 17.7% to ¥32,049 million, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent increased 16.3% to ¥22,697 million. Basic earnings per share were ¥53.01, up from ¥44.36.

ERP demand underpins record margins

The Tokyo-based group said inquiries for its flagship OBIC7 series — an accounting-centred integrated ERP suite — strengthened across manufacturing, distribution, services and finance, as large and mid-sized companies continued to modernise core systems for efficiency. Selling its own consulting, build and cloud-hosting services in a single package let OBIC hold its remarkable operating margin at 67.7%. The company runs its own cloud centre to meet rising demand for hosted deployments of OBIC7.

Comprehensive income dips on securities marks

While operating results were strong, comprehensive income fell 77.6% to ¥7,127 million, reflecting valuation losses on the group's large securities portfolio rather than any operating weakness. OBIC carries a fortress balance sheet: total assets were ¥618,796 million and net assets ¥516,011 million, an equity ratio of 83.4%, with book value per share of ¥1,190.80.

Full-year guidance unchanged

OBIC kept its full-year FY3/2027 forecast intact, guiding revenue of ¥148,700 million (+10.0%), operating profit of ¥98,000 million (+10.3%), ordinary profit of ¥114,500 million (+9.3%) and net profit of ¥82,000 million (+9.1%), with EPS of ¥189.23. The company plans an annual dividend of ¥94.00, up from ¥84.00.
