Canon Marketing Japan Inc. (TSE: 8060), the Canon group's domestic sales, marketing and IT-solutions company, reported consolidated results for the first half of the fiscal year ending December 2026 (January 1 – June 30, 2026) under Japanese GAAP. Revenue rose 1.8% to ¥339,790 million, operating profit climbed 18.9% to ¥32,488 million, ordinary profit gained 18.4% to ¥33,214 million, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent advanced 19.9% to ¥22,613 million. Basic earnings per share were ¥107.58, up from ¥86.61.
Profit growth outpaces revenue
With revenue up only modestly, the sharp rise in earnings reflected an improving business mix and cost discipline. Higher-margin IT solutions and services carried more of the top line, lifting the interim operating margin to 9.6% from 8.2% a year earlier. Ordinary profit rose 18.4% to ¥33,214 million, while comprehensive income eased 8.9% to ¥17,274 million on movements in valuation and translation adjustments.
Stock split and dividend
The company carried out a 2-for-1 split of its common stock, with a record date of March 31, 2026 and an effective date of April 1, 2026; all per-share figures are presented on a retroactively split-adjusted basis. Diluted EPS was ¥107.54. Canon Marketing Japan set a post-split interim dividend of ¥40.00 per share and forecasts a year-end dividend of ¥55.00, for a full-year payout of ¥95.00 — equivalent to ¥190.00 on a pre-split basis, up from ¥170.00 in FY12/2025.
Full-year guidance raised
Management lifted its full-year FY12/2026 forecast alongside the interim results, now guiding revenue of ¥685,000 million (+0.8%), operating profit of ¥63,000 million (+8.3%), ordinary profit of ¥64,000 million (+7.0%) and net profit of ¥44,000 million (+6.1%), with EPS of ¥211.43.
Balance sheet
Total assets stood at ¥537,909 million as of June 30, 2026, down from ¥564,426 million at the end of 2025, while net assets were ¥389,996 million against ¥413,814 million. The equity ratio eased slightly to 72.4% from 73.1%, and book value per share was ¥1,889.83, leaving the balance sheet lightly geared.
