ALiNK Internet H1 FY2/2027 earnings summary

Weather drives the traffic

ALiNK Internet, Inc. (TSE: 7077) reported consolidated results for the first half of FY2/2027, March 1 to August 31, 2026, on October 15, 2026 under Japanese GAAP. Net sales rose 5.8% to ¥539 million, and the company swung to an operating profit of ¥48 million from a ¥49 million loss and an ordinary profit of ¥54 million from a ¥28 million loss. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥28 million, or ¥15.56 per share, against a loss of ¥57 million. The company runs tenki.jp jointly with the Japan Weather Association and is shifting from a traffic-driven advertising model to one built on lifetime value per user, tracking paid membership and revenue per user. Paid membership stayed within its expected range, but revenue per user came in below plan because a price revision made partway through the second quarter only began to apply to existing members late in the quarter; the company expects the effect to show in the second half.

Segment results

The tenki.jp segment grew sales 2.0% to ¥301 million and segment profit 25.3% to ¥139 million. Advertising revenue beat plan on higher traffic, although revenue per page view fell; the company hired ahead of future growth while cutting outsourcing and using AI to work more efficiently. The IP production segment, which sells Onsen Musume hot-spring character goods available only at spa resorts, grew sales 3.1% to ¥131 million and narrowed its loss to ¥15 million from ¥84 million, as last year's app-development costs and goodwill amortisation fell away, though cost ratios stayed high. The solar consulting segment, which earns power-sale income by temporarily holding solar plants in the secondary market, grew sales 21.1% to ¥82 million and profit 17.7% to ¥78 million.

Balance sheet and outlook

Total assets fell 10.6% to ¥1,645 million from February 28, mainly because short-term loans receivable fell by ¥434 million while cash rose ¥245 million, while net assets rose 2.0% to ¥1,416 million, lifting the equity ratio to 86.1% from 75.4%. The company left its FY2/2027 forecast unchanged: net sales of ¥960 million (−5.4%), operating profit of ¥52 million, ordinary profit of ¥64 million and net profit of ¥45 million, or ¥25.05 per share. It plans no dividend.
