Business Description
Advantest Corporation designs and builds automatic test equipment for semiconductors. Its V93000 platform for system-on-chip devices and its memory testers are used by chipmakers, foundries and outsourced assembly and test providers to verify that each die works before it is packaged and shipped.
Founded in 1954 as Takeda Riken Industry, the company is now one of the two dominant players in the ATE market alongside Teradyne of the United States. Demand has been lifted sharply by AI accelerators and high-bandwidth memory, which require far longer test times per device than conventional chips.
