Business Description
Tokyo Electron Limited manufactures the equipment used to process silicon wafers: coater/developers for photolithography, etch systems, deposition tools, wafer cleaning systems and wafer probers, alongside production equipment for flat-panel displays.
It holds a dominant global share in coater/developer tools, which work in tandem with ASML's lithography systems, and is one of the few suppliers able to serve leading-edge logic and memory fabs. Founded in 1963 as an electronics trading company, it now earns the large majority of revenue outside Japan, with China, Taiwan and South Korea the biggest markets.
